-What is Unplugged? This is when you ask your guest to discontinue the use of electronic devises during your ceremony. Should you do this? YES!!! So many guests want to take pictures (I’m glad that think that you and the ceremony are picture worthy) but let’s leave it to the professional. No couple wants to get their pictures back and Uncle Tom has photo-bombed it by standing out in the isle with his huge Ipad 2 trying to get a picture of you. Truth is, you probably will never even get half the pictures that guests take at your wedding anyways. So, don’t allow them to ruin the ones that you will get back.
-When is the best time to tell guest? This should be done by either the DJ before the officiant comes in or have your officiant make the announcement just as soon as they are in their place. Should I have a sign that tells guest to unplug? Not really, this is just an added cost and half the time guest walk right by it and don’t even notice it or take time to read it. Plus, I hear from some guest that they do not know what “unplugged” even means. This is why I encourage my couples to have an announcement. I know right now that signs are huge so if you want it, then by all means have it. Just make sure that you have it in a location that guest will walk by as they enter the ceremony.
